The 11^th edition of the Global Real Estate Transparency Index (GRETI), produced jointly by JLL and LaSalle Investment Management, was released in July 2020. With data from 163 cities in 99 countries and territories, the report provides a comprehensive survey of the availability and quality of performance benchmarks and market data, governance structures, regulatory and legal environments, transaction processes and sustainability metrics. GRETI is intended to guide cross-border investors, developers and occupiers of real estate—as well as government and industry bodies looking for international benchmarks. This year’s edition was extended to quantify 210 separate elements of “transparency,” with additional coverage on sustainability and resilience, health and wellness, proptech and alternatives sectors.
