This May 2021 report from ICF provided recommendations to utility leaders for managing the uncertainties around building electrification cost and feasibility. The analysis covers potential pathways to building decarbonisation, including takeaways from New York City’s ground-breaking decarbonization study which was supported by ICF. The authors’ framework for action identifies questions stakeholders can use to determine when, where, how, and how much building electrification to pursue, as well as how those strategies should incorporate energy justice considerations.
