This report was prepared by the American Institute of Architects (AIA)  and published in September 2020. It examines key aspects in the development of sustainable projects, and explains new AIA for these projects. Four main topics include: general background about sustainable projects; Sustainable Projects Exhibit; sustainable considerations in AIA Agreements; and a discussion of an example of a Sustainability Plan. The report supports AIA’s mission to “advance, disseminate and advocate” for design practices that integrate built and natural systems and enhance both the quality and environmental performance of the built environment.
