This 2020 Burns & McDonnell white paper examines carbon capture utilization and storage technologies, which can capture 90% of a power plant’s carbon dioxide emissions. Both amine-based conventional absorber processes and membrane technologies are reviewed. DOE funding through 45Q tax credits for sequestration is examined. Opportunities and challenges are analysed.
