This paper was published in 2014 in the WIT Transactions on Ecology on The Built Environment, Vol 142 by the University of Pennsylvania. Observations from five small-medium building retrofit projects using the Integrated Design (ID) Advanced Energy Retrofit (AER) Roadmap are detailed. The roadmap’s ID protocols are tested and verified based on the initial results of the five demonstration projects, and the method in which different teams employ the components of the roadmap is discussed.
