This report by the Lighting Research Center was published in May 2016. It discusses and compares traditional HID lights with new LED lights for “mogul” sockets. Some of the benefits of the LED replacements include energy savings, maintenance reductions and improved colour characteristics. A case study is described where the light distribution and cost was compared before and after replacement with LED lights.
