(IS-2016-59) Video on Demand – How worldwide viewing habits are changing in the evolving media lands

This paper reports on a survey of TV viewers in 61 countries about the sources of their TV content. Two-thirds of viewers use video-on-demand (VoD) with one-quarter of these paying for services such as Hulu and Netflix. One- third of those surveyed are considering canceling cable TV (with a skew toward younger ages). VoD is favored for choice and cost compared to cable TV. Demographic data supporting these statistics are provided.
