This white paper released in March 2020 by ASCO Power Technologies/ Schneider Electric sets out an approach for evaluating device security “from the inside out.” When securing transfer switches and other power system devices, a layered security model enables facilities to look from the inside of a device outward to the various system boundaries that impact physical and operational security. The report describes how common-sense security measures such as securing equipment enclosures and rooms and applying password protections mitigate routine threats to reliable operation.
